The intention of this session is to understand the current use of Standards-Based Grading in band rooms across Iowa, and to share best practices and pitfalls in its implementation as identified in both current research and results of a survey of Iowa Bandmasters Association members between March 22 and April 16, 2024.
Do you believe SBG accurately communicates information about student achievement? Have students dropped band because of SBG? What experiences are graded? How do you use rubrics? Are there retakes?
